The Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara is a new offering from Rimmel. I have always enjoyed Rimmel mascaras, the original lash accelerator being an absolute favourite and I couldn't even begin to estimate how many tubes I have been through. I always think highstreet brands do extremely well when it comes to mascaras. The only high end mascara I have ever re pruchased is Benefit's They're real, but I am equally as happy to pursue the stands in Boots in search for something new to try. When I spotted this in Boots I was naturally very intrigued to see if this lived up to it's predecessor.
I won't beat around the bush with this review. Is it as good as the original? No.
I have seen many a negative review surrounding the original version and I think you have to be realistic with this product. Nothing in a £6 mascara is going to give you amazingly long lashes. I have used the original version so many times that according to the marketing slogan, I should have the most amazing lashes in the world. But I don't. You have to overlook the fact that Rimmel claimed to include a lash grow complex and just see it as a normal mascara.
I have really enjoyed using this mascara. I must praise the wand as the design makes it really easy to get down to the root and create a little bit of volume. I find most of all that is really lengthens and separates my lashes which is mainly what I look for. Any dramatic volume is always a bonus but not necessarily how I would judge a mascara as I have rubbish eyelashes.
I wouldn't repurchase this. I have enjoyed it but given a choice I would choose the original formula because I think I prefer the way it makes my lashes look and I think it lasts longer before it dries up.
Have you tried this or do you prefer the original one?
Lovely post I think I will try this mascara myself :D

I love reading your blog! I agree it wasn't as great as I had hoped for a lash accelerator but it was still a nice mascara.
