Hardly a day goes by where I don't apply eyeshadow. I just don't feel complete without a subtle sweep of colour to my lids. My usual go to is Nars Nepal which is a bit like Mac All that Glitters. I have the original Urban Decay Naked Palette but I only really use one or two colours from it. I skipped on the second one and initially didn't think the basics would ever end up in my possession. I have no idea what made me buy it but I bought it online without seeing it in the flesh.
When it arrived I felt a huge pang of disappointment. I wasn't wowed and I thought the colours looked really boring and well... basic. I started to use it and as time has progressed I have grown to like it. But it's certainly something I could have lived with out.
I need to mention that if you have a dark skin tone, skip it. These will not show up against your skin. I am as pale as a piece of paper and these struggle to show up against my colour. If you like bold eyeshadow then these will most definitely not settle your cravings.
I think my favourite combination is to wear naked 2 on the lid then pop a bit of faint in the crease. If I am going out at night I will add a bit of the black shade crave to add a touch of drama. I am now starting to experiment with eyeshadow and have also been incorporating some colours from the original naked palette when using the basics one. I also love applying venus as an inner corner highlight.
To sum up, I like this palette but you definitely do not need this in your life. I can't deny that I am growing to love it but there was no initial attraction and if I'm being honest I could life without it..I just don't want to.
I think the shades do look boring but you can create many classic chic everyday looks with them. I feel like the first 3 colours are so similar and they could have popped a richer darker chocolatey brown in there though.

Love urban decay eyeshadows, my naked palette is practically glued to my hand!

great, honest review. I do love some of these but probably not enough to justify the palette! x
